Summary: At this point, you might be feeling a bit burnt out by all the homicidal rat movies being released in this decade. But don't worry, because this one has more than a few twists up its sleeve. And it all starts with Ron Perlman creating a rather twisted new strain of rodent.

History: Deep within the decadent place of Brookdale Institute, a monstrous experiment took place. Well, not intentionally, that is. The chief psychiatrist's experiments gave way to a breed of red-eyed rats with heightened growth, intelligence, and appetite. He tried abandoning his work, but the caretaker, Ernst, developed a psychic bond with the mother rat, and now as he profits off the place, the rats get a nice helping of guests and patients to feast on...

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After Ernst outlives his usefulness to the rats, they are all taken out by a gas leak that ignites and incinerates them all. Except there was another giant rat, and her own brood is off to see the world...

Powers/Abilities: Can form telepathic bonds with whomever they choose.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2-The red eyes may be a bit unnerving, but everything else about these rodents is a mess. The CGI is terrible even by bad movie standards, and completely destroys any semblance and tension one might have once felt.

Trivia: -Aside from special effect failures, continuity dies here as well. A corpse is shown with his hands chewed off, only to have them magically reappear later.

-This film was directed by Tibor Takaks, the very same person who did "The Gate" and "I, Madman". Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
